Working Group

Introduction

The full railLA working group, volunteers committed to bringing high-speed rail to Los Angeles, meets monthly to schedule and coordinate their respective duties, facilitate the progress of Sub-Committees, and ensure that the mission of railLA is being fulfilled. Get involved and volunteer to help us meet our mission.

Get involved

We count on volunteer hours to meet our goals for Summer 2010. We are about to host a series of events and need the help of volunteers to get the work done. Email us at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer or join our mailing list.

Meeting Locations

Architecture and planning offices around Downtown have donated space to the Working Group for meetings. Thank you to AECOM, Harley Ellis Devereaux, Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Perkins+Will for the use of your office.

If you would like to host a meeting – let us know! Email the railLA Secretary Ashley Hand at [email protected]

Think Sustainably

We encourage use of public transit if possible and there are two Red Line stops within a couple of blocks from the AECOM office. To map your route, click here.

Parking Directions

If you’re looking for parking Downtown, there are a few options as there is no validation available for these meetings.

  • Park at Union Station for $6 (all day) and take the Red Line to the Pershing Square or 7th/Metro Station and then walk to the 515 S. Flower building. Enter garage off of Vignes, next to the up ramp for the Nick Patsorus Plaza. Add in $5 for a day pass if you don’t have a Metro pass. Also this is also a contender for the most confusing garage of all time.
  • Park under the Central Public Library for $11 (all day if entering before 9:30am). Go south on Flower passed the 5th and Flower intersection and the entrance is on the left (east side). Duplex park right near the entrance and give your keys to the Parking Attendant.
  • Traveling east on 4th Street along the north side of the Bonaventure Hotel. At Flower Street, go straight ahead into the Arco Plaza Garage. Go up to the car wash. Get your car washed and ticket validated for $13. Must allow enough time for the guys to wash it!
  • Park on W.6th Street just across the 110 Highway for $5 and walk over the bridge to AECOM.
