Your organization should be devoting at least some of its time and energy to the question of where the “other” station in LA will be located, and what it will look like. While the configuration of tracks, platforms, etc. in and around Union Station will require careful, creative planning, the location and design of the other station in Burbank or the San Fernando Valley also deserves serious consideration. Because of existing development and space constraints at Union Station, there is obviously going to be much more potential for joint development projects adjacent to this station. I would hope that your organization would form a subcommittee to examine this issue and develop some specific recommendations for this station.
